This is what Derian does for me… πŸ’š ''Counsel This is what Derian does for me... πŸ’š ''Counselling at Derian House has really helped me. I'm only now managing to talk about how I feel. I feel happier, and more able to express myself. I knew I was angry and unhappy, but I didn't know I needed counselling.” ✨ To mark #ChildrensHospiceWeek, we’re asking five children, young people, and their families - who have all felt the benefits of our hospice services - exactly what Derian does for them 🫢 Jessica has very complex needs that require 24/7 care from Roy and his family, and visits Derian House quite regularly 🏑 Jessica's dad, Roy, accesses counselling sessions with our Family Counsellor, John, which is a vital part of the service that we offer families at Derian House. They can help both in helping to cope with the day-to-day difficulties of living with a poorly child, as well as bereavement support πŸ•―οΈ Together for Short Lives | Hospice UK | #CHW πŸ’š
Grayson recently enjoyed a Play in the Community v Grayson recently enjoyed a Play in the Community visit from the lovely Caroline, where the pair partook in plenty of fun! 🀩 There was lots of music, sensory play, and even a foot massage much to the delight of our handsome young man ✨ Our community service is available to Derian's babies, children and young people who may not be able to visit the hospice itself, meaning they don't miss out on the incredible services we offer - just call it a home from home! 🏑 Together for Short Lives | Hospice UK | #ChildrensHospiceWeek | #CHW πŸ’š

The bravest thing you can be is yourself 🀩 Wha The bravest thing you can be is yourself 🀩 What a week we've had celebrating the inaugural Derian Pride, culminating in one of our epic dress-up days here at the hospice 🌈 We enjoyed plenty of rainbow-themed arts and crafts, colourful sensory play, and finished up our celebrations with pizza making! πŸ• #PrideMonth πŸ’š

A new star baker has entered the hospice! πŸ’š Le A new star baker has entered the hospice! πŸ’š Leila enjoyed baking a fresh batch of sausage rolls in Danni's Diner this week, and even filled them with some of M&S' finest apple sauce... πŸ˜‹ ...the girl clearly has taste! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ Making memories and learning new skills is just how we (sausage) roll here at Derian House 😏
